This humbucker is hand made by Kent Armstrong at his USA facility. It attaches to either side of the neck using small screws and is 1/2 in. thick.

Moderate, very tonally balanced, string to string. Use with small fender amps.
This pickup is superb, it does the gentle jazzy sound very well, and sounds more like the 'electric' jazz guitar sound (Jim Hall's d'aquisto with Guild humbucker), rather than some magnetic floating archtop pickups which sound 'acoustic'.
It is beatifully buzz and hum-free, and feedback-howl resistant, and amazingly, sounds brilliant overdriven, through effects, you name it, even manages controlled feedback, which is rare for a full bodied jazz guitar with a floating pickup.
Kent has created a handmade Johnny Smith style pickup that has the same body size and appearance to the Gibson original.
They contain Kent's own premium quality handwound pickup coils and magnets, and each pickup is individually wax potted.
So outstanding in performance are these pickups we believe they are every bit the equal (if not superior) to the tone and output of the originals.
Each pickup contains individually adjustable polepieces and a nickel plated metal housing, sized exactly to match the originals.
Mounting tabs of the neck pickup (above right) may be bent to accommodate a variety of fingerboard widths, and the tab of the pickguard pickup (below) may be drilled and tapped as required, and is suitable for mounting in either the neck or bridge position.
Each pickup is individually handmade in the USA by Kent.
